TWO YEAR OLD TROUBADOR
TO PERFORM AT IRISH NIGHT
OCEAN CITY, N.J. --- Irish eyes and all others will be smiling when two-year-old Dylan Dwyer takes the stage at the Ocean City Fine Art League’s 4th annual Irish Night on Fri., March 9th.
Dylan will sing the Wild Rover, a rousing Irish folk song about a character who “spends all his money on whiskey and beer,” before finally deciding to settle down.
In Dylan’s case, if he had money to spend it would be on pizza and pineapple. “That’s his favorite menu,” says dad Todd Dwyer of Egg Harbor Township.
“He also likes to put the pineapple on top of the pizza,” added Todd who has played music to Dylan since he was an infant to amuse him and occasionally calm him down.
“After awhile he started singing along and sounding out the lyrics,” notes Todd. Besides Irish music Dylan is partial to Jimmy Buffet.
“Dylan has progressed to the point where he is ready for his show business debut,” notes Irish Night emcee, John Walton. “The audience will be amazed when they hear him sing and see him dance.”
Yes, Dylan dances, too. And when he finishes his routine, he takes a bow.
For two years and one month, Dylan has been entertaining his dad and mother, Jennifer. Now it’s you turn.
The show starts at 7p.m. in the league’s gallery at 943 Asbury Ave. Headlining the event is the South Jersey Ceili Band with the Jersey Shore Ceili Dancers. You’ll witness some down home, foot stompin” hard shoe step River Dancing. Feel free to join in.
